St. Helier is a suburban cottage estate situated in the London boroughs of Sutton and Merton. The part of the estate north of Bishopsford Road and Green Lane lies within Merton, while the rest is located in Sutton.
It is nearby villages such as Rosehill, Morden, Benhilton, Wallington, Carshalton, Mitcham and Hackbridge. St. Helier railway station (on the Sutton Loop line, in Travelcard Zone 4) serves the area. Bus routes N44, S1, S4, 80, 151, 154, 157 and 164 run through St. Helier as well.
Housing ownership on the estate at present is divided between the local authority and private sector, with numerous people capitalizing on the Right to Buy policy since the 1970s. Majority of the structures in St. Helier are original and a lot are still being utilized for their main purposes.
