Ladbroke Grove street takes its name after James Weller Ladbroke. He is the developer of the Ladbroke Estate. Fantasy writer Michael Moorcock is a former famous resident. The area influenced some of his works. Moorcock also collaborated with Hawkwind, a local rock band.
