Did you know that...
Barbican Ec1 is the area that encompasses numerous amazing attractions. Barbican estate, a complete maze of walkways, slopes, steps, and hidden gardens built in 1970’s, is a stunning example of British brutalism. This architectural style features rugged, massive, fortress-like buildings with a predominance of exposed concrete or brickwork construction popular in 1950-70s worldwide.
The largest Performing Arts Center in Europe can be found in Barbican EC1. The Barbican Arts Center has several halls for music and theater performances. It also has three cinemas, an art gallery, conference halls, and one of the largest art libraries. The two pianos in the library can be used for free. There are also free events for kids at the library. The center houses three restaurants and two exhibition areas. Barbican Center construction costed £161 million.
