Chalk Farm used to be called Chaldecot when it was only a small settlement. Chaldecot means “cold shelter” or “cold cottage”. This NW3 area used to be part of the Horney parish. Chalcot is another variant of its name. Haverstock School is the first private finance initiative school in Camden. Kentish Town West is the closest railway station.

The Roundhouse is one of the landmarks of this North West London area. The performance venue was built in 1847. It was first used as a warehouse. In 1964, it was transformed into an entertainment venue. It is now a Grade II listed building. The venue hosted famous shows such as the 1968 The Doors concert, 1972 Greasy Truckers Party, Status Quo, Lady Gaga, Opeth, Motorhead, and iTunes festivals.
