Did you know that...
Finsbury Park N4 takes its name after the nearby park with the same name. The park was opened in 1869 and it’s one of the first Victorian great London parks.
Famous artists and bands such as Iggy Pop, Oasis, Limp Bizkit, Jimmy Hendrix, Bob Dylan, Sex Pistols, and Rage Against the Machine performed in Finsbury Park.
Actress Naomi Harris, actor Mark Bannerman, Academy Award winner sound engineer Ken Weston, and singer Johnny Rotten are some of the most famous residents.
In recent years, the area started getting a more artsy vibe to it. In 2014, the John Jones art building opened its doors. And back in 2013, the Park Theatre opened on Clifton Terrace.
The actual park was known as the ultimate meeting point of the pacifists during World War I. During World War II, however, the park became a host for anti-aircraft guns and was used for military training.
