Did you know that...
Heath Park was developed after 1908 when the railway came to this part of East London. The Romford-Upminster railway line was built back in 1893 and it largely contributed to the expansion of Heath Park. This route measures 5.4 km. The line was initially derived from the London, Tilbury and Southend Railway when it opened in 1893. Since 2015, it is part of the London Overground Network. This single-track throughout branch carries the Romford Push and Pull nickname. Hornchurch Cutting was discovered in 1892 while the line was constructed. This site of special scientific interest holds important clues regarding the ice age 450,000 years ago.
