One of the founders of the Guinness Book of Records, Ross McWhirter, lived in Bush Hill Park EN1. He was assassinated outside of his Village Road house. Diane Parish, an actress best known for playing Denise Fox in EastEnders, lived in Bush Hill Park EN1.
The area is home to several grade II listed buildings as well as Baroque revival constructions. The local golf club was founded in 1895.
Bush Hill Park was part of the Bush Hill Park House estate. William Mellish, a member of Parliament, owned the estate in the 18th century. In the 19th century, a large part of the estate was bought by a development company. The house was demolished in 1929.
