Garston certainly does have a local identity. However, nowadays it is basically a suburb of Watford.
The Building Research Establishment (a center of building science in the UK) has its headquarters in the area.
Garston boasts of exceptional transport links and has its very own railway station, a 3rd stop on the Abbey Line subsequent to Watford North and Watford Junction. The mainline train services go through Watford from London Euston. This district is also in close proximity to A41, M1, and M25 and has its own bus station.
The streets in this area are lined with flats, 1930s semis, and terraced houses. There’s a large open space known as Garston Park, about half of which has been occupied by a huge nature reserve. It consists of grassland, wetland, and woodland with butterflies, pipistrelle bats, red foxes, muntjac deer, and woodpeckers inhabiting them. Additionally, there’s a play area for kids, a football pitch, and an outdoor gymnasium.
