New Cross is home to Addey and Stanhope School; Goldsmiths, University of London; and Haberdashers’ Aske’s Hatcham College. To the west is New Cross Gate, which was founded by the New Cross Turnpike Trust in 1718 and is the location of New Cross Gate station and New Cross station. These are the 2 railway stations that serve the area.
There are 3 main thoroughfares that converge in New Cross – New Cross Road (A2) which goes from London to Dover and Canterbury; Lewisham Way (A20) which goes from New Cross to Dover and Folkestone; and Queen’s Road (A202) which goes from New Cross to Victoria.
