Rotherhithe is a southeast London suburban area situated 2.8 miles (4.5 km) east of the central point of London. Part of the London Borough of Southwark, it is historically a part of Surrey county until 1965 when it became part of Greater London. Rotherhithe is situated on a peninsula on the Thames’ southern bank, facing Limehouse and Wapping.
Three railway stations serve the area – Surrey Quays, Canada Waters and Rotherhithe. Other stations nearby area London Bridge, Bermondsey and South Bermondsey stations. There are many places of interest in Rotherhithe such as the Brunel Museum, Southwark Park, King Edward III’s Manor House and Surrey Docks Farm.
