Seven Sisters N15 takes its name after the seven trees that were nearby the Tottenham High Road junction that is known as the Wards Corner. The construction authorization of the Seven Sisters road mentions the seven trees. Singer Shirley Bassey lived in the area in the 1950s.
The road inspired numerous songs such as Saturday Night by Leyton Buzzards, Seven Sisters Road by Dan Reed Network, Seven Sisters by Real Lies, and the album with the same name by Meja. The main character in the High Fidelity novel lives here.
Rainbow Theater was originally called Finsbury Park Astoria. It opened in 1930 and it was one of the world’s largest cinemas at that time. The Who, Frank Zappa, The Osmonds, Pink Floyd, James Brown, Yes, David Bowie, Genesis, Stevie Wonder, Queen, and many other famous artists and bands played here.
