Did you know that...
Soho is a City of Westminster district situated within the West End of London. Initially a fashionable area for the upper classes, the district has been one of London’s major entertainment spots since the 19th century. Its reputation can be attributed to theaters and music clubs like the Windmill Theatre, Marquee Club and 2i’s Coffee Bar.
The district is also home to Twentieth Century Fox’s British office and headquarters of the British Board of Film Classification. Kettner’s and numerous other popular restaurants are also located in Soho. Since the 20th century, the adjacent Denmark Street has accommodated many instrument stores and music publishing offices.
The area to the north is known as Fitzrovia, to the south is St James’s, to the west is Mayfair, and to the east are Covent Garden and St. Giles. The closest London Underground stations in Soho are Covent Garden station, Tottenham Court Road station, Oxford Circus station, Leicester Square station, and Piccadilly Circus station.
