South Croydon is a town that surrounds the vale south of central Croydon and runs all the way to the southern part of the Red Deer pub on Brighton Road. It is bordered by Sanderstead and Selsdon to the East and Waddon to the west.
South Croydon railway station, on the Brighton line in Travelcard Zone 5, serves the area. Other railway stations near South Croydon are Purley Oaks station, Sanderstead station and Riddlesdown station. There is also Lloyd Park tram stop that serve the area.
Popular landmarks and sites of interest in south Croydon include Croham Hurst (a 33.6-hectare Site of Metropolitan Importance for Nature Conservation and biological Site of Special Scientific Interest), St. Peter’s Church (created by architect George Gilbert Scott) and 46 South End (a Grade II listed building and oldest surviving store in Croydon).
