St. Paul’s is an Anglican cathedral and Grade I listed building that lies at the City of London’s highest peak on Ludgate Hill. It is the Diocese of London’s mother church and the seat of the Bishop of London. The cathedral is among London’s most recognizable and most famous spots.
The church has held many services such as Prince Charles and Lady Diana Spencer’s wedding; Sir Winston Churchill, Admiral Nelson and the Duke of Wellington’s funerals; Queen Victoria’s Jubilee celebration; and Queen Elizabeth II’s 80th and 90th birthdays. The Festival of Britain’s inauguration is also held at St. Paul’s Cathedral.
There are hourly prayers and 4 to 5 services (i.e. Choral Evensong and Matins) happening at St. Paul’s Cathedral daily. Moreover, the church as numerous special services related to the City of London, its institutions, corporations and guilds. St. Paul’s Cathedral is usually open every day to visitors and has a regular performance of organ performances and other shows.
