Staines-upon-Thames (previously Staines) is a village on the River Thames, in the Spelthorne borough. It is situated within Middlesex’s historic county boundaries, after its handover in 1965 to Surrey. Staines-upon-Thames is 27 km (17 miles) southwest of Charing Cross and within the M25 motorway.
Staines railway station, on the Waterloo to Reading line, is operated by South Western Railway and serves the area. It has trains running from London Waterloo to Weybridge, Windsor and Reading.
