Warlingham is a settlement in Surrey’s Tandridge district, located 35.9 km (22.3 miles) east of Guildford’s county town and 22.9 km (14.2 miles) south of London’s city center. It is the central point of a civil parish which consists of Hamsey Green, an adjacent smaller town to the north. To the southwest is Caterham, around 3.2 km (2 miles) from Warlingham.
There are two railway stations that serve the area, namely Upper Warlingham station and Whyteleafe station, both of which are on contiguous but separate lines. The former is operated by Southern services and is about 1.6 km (1 mile) from Warlingham, with fast trains traveling to Uckfield, East Grinstead, London Bridge and London Victoria. The latter, on the other hand, has slower trains and travels to Caterham and London.
Numerous schools can be found in the area, including Warlingham Village Primary School, Warlingham Park School, Croydon High, Caterham, and Woldingham School for Girls. Warlingham also has a hardware store, a pharmacy, a coffee shop, 2 pubs, 2 hair salons and supermarkets.
