Did you know that...
West Brompton is a southwest London district that links the borders between the Royal Borough of Kensington and Chelsea and the London Borough of Hammersmith and Fulham. The centuries-old border was drawn by Counter’s Creek, currently lost underneath the West London line railway.
The area is bordered to the north by Earl’s Court and West Kensington, to the south by Fulham Broadway, to the west by Fulham, and to the east by Chelsea. Other towns near West Brompton include Battersea, South Kensington, Wandsworth, and Hammersmith.
West Brompton station is a National Rail and London Underground tube station on the West London and District lines, on the A3218 (Old Brompton Road) directly west of Brompton Cemetery and south of Earl’s Court Exhibition Centre (now demolished). The station’s District line provides services to Upminster and Edgware Road (northbound and eastbound) and Wimbledon (southbound), while the West London line passes between Gatwick airport, Clapham Junction, Willesden Junction and South Croydon.
