West Byfleet is a town in the county of Surrey that developed around its rather minor stop on the Byfleet and Woodham railway station (London & South Western Railway), which originally opened in 1887. The town is bordered by the Basingstoke Canal to the north and by the Wey Navigation Canal and the M25 to the east.
It forms part of the Greater London Built-up Area and its stockbroker belt and is located 8 miles (12.9 km) from London Heathrow and halfway between Brookland and Woking’s business parks. At the town center, you can find several restaurants (Chinese, North and South Indian and Italian cuisines), a Subway, 3 coffee shops, a wine bar, a hardware store and more.
The town has 2 primary schools (The Marist School and West Byfleet Junior School) and 3 secondary schools (Bishop David Brown School, Fullbrook School and St. John the Baptist School).
