West Dulwich is a south London district, which links the London Borough of Southwark and the London Borough of Lambeth. South Croxted Road and Croxted Road marks the border between Lambeth to the west and Southwark to the east.
West Dulwich name comes from Dilwihs that means “meadow with dill”. The first document that mentions the area is from 967. At that time, West Dulwich belonged to Earl Aelfheah. In 1605, Elizabethan actor Edward Alleyn bought the estate and established Dulwich College.
Belair Park houses three grade II listed constructions: Belair House country villa, the lodge with the entrance gate, and the stable building. In 1996, owner Gary Cady turned Belair House into a restaurant. In 2004, owner Ibi Issolah renamed it Beauberry House.
