West Horsley is a semi-rural town between Leatherhead and Guildford in the county of Surrey. It is located on the A246 and on the south side of the A3 and the M25. Its civil parish climbs to a prehistoric woodland, Sheepleas Woods, which is situated on the northern downslope of North Downs (a ridge of hills).
Serving West Horsley is Horsley railway station, which is situated in the adjacent town of East Horsley. Notable people associated with the area are David Mallet (film and music video director), David Ogilvy (the father of advertising) and George Waller (Victoria Cross recipient).
