An ancient English town, Totteridge is presently a suburban district in the London Borough of Barnet. Located 13.05 km (8.2 miles) north northwest of Charing Cross, it is a combination of open land (which include several farmland) and residential development.
Totteridge and Whetstone tube station on the Northern line, is the nearest London Underground station in the area, with Transport for London (TfL) bus routes 326 and 251 terminating outside the station. Moreover, Woodside Park tube station is located at the Southern border, close to North Finchley. Oakleigh Park railway station is also near Totteridge.
Totteridge has several Sites of Importance for Nature Conservation such as Totteridge Common, Totteridge Green, Totteridge Fields, Darlands Lake Nature Reserve and Folly Brook. Notable residents of the area include astronomer Fiammetta Wilson, former manager for Arsenal FC Arsene Wenger and merchant Peter Meyer.
