Woolwich is a southeast London area and part of the Royal Borough of Greenwich. Since the 19th century, the area has been part of the London metro district until it was incorporated into Greenwich Borough in 1965. Woolwich is located 13.7 km (8.5 miles) from Charing Cross.
Woolwich Dockyard railway station and Woolwich Arsenal railway station are the two closest National Rail stations in the area, with services going to Charing Cross, London Cannon Street, Barnehurst and Dartford. The are several Transport for London (TfL) bus routes that serve Woolwich.
